Financial advisory has been so fulfilling and enjoyable for me. I pride myself in my service to my clients and their loved ones. It is my utmost honour when my clients bring up my name in a room full of opportunities. I appreciate every single individual who has placed their trust in me, and I demonstrate so with my proactiveness and go to great lengths for them in dire times. To me, needs-based financial planning is a given and it should be the norm. I am constantly reviewing my processes and innovating new ways to make financial health reviews digestible albeit in-depth. Robust financial planning can make peoples’ lives better, and that is exactly what I intend to do.
I believe in practicing gratitude because there is a lot to be grateful for. In every obstacle faced, I found myself scaling greater heights to become a better financial advisor. They say that rejections are steppingstones, and indeed they are. Who I am is an amalgamation of all my successes and more importantly, failures.
As someone who started this career during my penultimate year in Nanyang Technological University, I understand how it feels to be in the final year of academic studies. All my years of education just to lead up to this very moment of adulthood where I would find myself a job and work till I call it quits (provided financially free). But I am so glad that this wasn’t just another job — but a lifelong career. To add, my journey as a financial advisor kickstarted amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. 2020 was a year that went down in history. If it did any good, it left us appreciating the years after— where we wouldn’t take a single moment with our family, friends, and co-workers for granted. Precisely because I joined at a time where face to face interaction was minimal, there was a strong urgency to make the most out of everything and anything before the restrictions would clamp down on us again. For many industry veterans, that year was uncomfortable due to the sudden transition to zoom calls and remote working. However, it proved to work out better for us all because now, we are tech-savvy and much more efficient. New skill, unlocked.
Up till date, I have more than 150 clients under my care. Moving forward, I’d like to groom consultants and bring out the best in every individual that comes under my care so that they too, can impact more lives and charter a path for themselves in financial advisory.
My achievements range from the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) 2021, Prestige Club Qualifier, Superstar Club and a promotion to the title of AIA Personal Wealth Manager. These awards are not everything, but they attest to my professionalism and the level of service I pledge to my clients. I owe it all to my tribe of supportive clients, friends and family, and SP-KCA for all that I have. Because of them, there is not one day that I wake up not loving what I do. I know it will all be worthwhile.
